Safe Mic Hanging

1. Go to your neighborhood home-supply or auto parts store and buy some velcro cord-ties.  
   
   
   
2. Attach one tightly to your microphone cord (yes that is a guitar cord, but for illustrative purposes...)   
   
   
   
   
   
3. When hanging a microphone, attach the cord-tie to the boom stand, and thread it through the shockmount before plugging in the microphone.
